Rob Summers was paralysed after being hit by a car in 2006. He was diagnosed with a C6 injury, a quadriplegic, and was told he was never going to stand, take steps, move his arms or have feeling again.
His sheer determination to defeat the odds, lead him to become the first patient to be able to stand again by using an electrical epidural stimulator.
Rob: “It has changed my life on a day-to-day basis” To be able to stand again and take steps, “felt incredible. It was amazing. It made me optimistic and hopeful again for the future. I’m excited at being a part of this.”
“To quote the great Christopher Reeve, I see a world with empty wheelchairs”
