16 year old Cody Williams damaged his C5 vertebrae during a high school football tackle. “I thought it was going to be just like a broken arm, you wear a cast, you heal up and your good to go. So it was a real shock to me.” Cody discovered he lost feeling, the abiltiy to stand, walk and upper limb movement.
Since undergoing transcutaneous electrical stimulation with Prof Reggie Edgerton (UCLA) he has gained feeling back in his legs, and the ability to stand for short periods of time. “My goals are just to be able to get maybe some movement back in my legs … later on it, long term future take a step here and there.”
